Craft Market
Annually we do a craft market where children, parents, and community members can do some holiday shopping. We have community vendors and entrepreneurial students from our community selling handmade items. This is a fun shopping experience for your child and you! There are lots of low priced items to pick from and this is a great chance to get some shopping done for everyone on your list!

Auction
Bandana Days
For more than 50 years we’ve been rounding up the entire student body for our annual fall carnival which usually happens in September just after school starts. The Bandana Day Carnival is a great opportunity to meet other Wilmot families and to get to know teachers and staff outside the classroom. Most students that graduate Wilmot claim Bandana Day Carnivals are their favorite memories. Come join us for playing games, winning prizes, inflatables, cotton candy, popcorn, , and snacking at the food trucks!
Fun Run
Your child can exercise an active, outdoorsy lifestyle by raising money through pledges based on the number of laps they run or flat rate donations from family and friends. A heart-pumping DJ, free t-shirt, and fun atmosphere motivates students as they run towards class and individual prizes. Together, students will have a fun event with a little competition that results in a lot of hard earned-money for the school. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. After the race there is an epic prize day party at school for all kids!
Over $78,000 raised from this event since we started it a few years ago!

Green Council
Our mission is to foster local, sustainable solutions for food sources, waste streams, and energy use at Wilmot Elementary. We create guidelines to make class parties more sustainable while offering zero waste support at Wilmot events. Together, we are setting an example that we can battle a global problem with a local approach. The Green Council also works alongside the Green Team Superheroes and Health and Wellness committee members to lower our schools carbon footprint.

Green Team Superheroes
As recipients of the 2019 President’s Environmental Youth Award, the team diverted $2300 in energy expenses, reduced school waste while recycling more, and educated their peers on healthy eating habits. Your 4th or 5th grader can become part of this award winning team and develop lifelong leadership skills while contributing to put Wilmot at the forefront of sustainability. Applications are collected at the beginning of the school year. We need parents and teachers to volunteer time to bring this back to Wilmot. Please contact PTA to learn more.

Shindigs and Shenanigans
Otherwise known as parties! Anyone in the Wilmot community can host a party of their choice for anyone in the Wilmot community to pay to attend. There’s been parties for moms only, parties just for dads, and parties the whole family to attend. It’s our way to make fundraising fun.
Spring Dance
Each year we bring down the house as the entire student body is invited to dance the night away. We have decorations based on a theme (glow, friendship, etc). food, a photo booth, and root beer floats. Plus, there’s the much anticipated class versus class dance off. Parents can mingle while their kids experience their first school dance.
Watch D.O.G.S.
We give this national program a local touch with our many dads and grandads who help make our streets safe and school secure. You can volunteer in the morning during bus drop off or in the afternoon during pick up. It’s flexible, fun, and an effective way to offer a sense of security at our doorstep.
To join the Watch D.O.G.S contact parent coordinator Chase Courington via the PTA email ([email protected]) Interested participants will be sent an application, a confidentiality agreement, and a background check form. Once the paperwork is complete, Chase will share the Watch D.O.G.S. calendar with you and a time slot can be scheduled once a week or once a month in the morning or afternoon |
